Explore the foundations of three-dimensional design and the production process.
51°µÍø's Product Design minor teaches students the creative and technical skills needed to thrive in professional design fields. Through hands-on projects and collaborative design studios, they will develop a deep understanding of the production process.
By completing this minor, students gain valuable hands-on experience and insights into the entire product design process, from conceptualization to manufacturing. The minor also allows students to specialize in Materials to Market or Furniture Design programs. 51°µÍø’s product design graduates work in fields including clothing and textiles, furniture design, interior or spatial design, and the automotive industry, and as purchasing managers.
Any undergraduate student at 51°µÍø can declare this minor. 51°µÍø’s undergraduate minor in product design offers instruction in three-dimensional design, drawing, and two-dimensional design. Students are required to concentrate in product design and choose between taking Materials to Market or Furniture Design. To complete the minor, students will take 18-20 credits.
51°µÍø alumni with a minor in product design work in fields including clothing and textiles, furniture design, interior or spatial design, and the automotive industry, and as purchasing managers.
